OC Donations

For nearly 15 years, OC has been more than a training facility — it’s been a second home. In the beginning, we each came here for “self defense”, but what we found here was so much more. Not only did we receive real, practical education on violence and personal safety, but we each gained a new mindset that positively impacted all parts of our personal lives. We helped each other overcome past traumas, improve health, build confidence, and gave many of us purpose again. 

In 3 – 4 months our lease expires. With the changes in our society and some of our longtime members moving on to different life stages, OC’s future is uncertain. It’s been harder and harder to get new members in and for quite some time we’ve been in the negative each month. Many months at -$1,000 short or more. I can no longer make up the difference each month. If I break the lease early there will be fees and penalties in addition to the remaining months of the lease that will completely bury me.

I’m reaching out to our team asking for help to minimize damage. I’m asking for donations to help get us to the end and possibly buy us a little time beyond lease expiration. I know each of us is in a different financial situation and some of us are barely surviving. If your situation allows for a donation, every little bit helps.

I’m not sure what the future holds for OC or myself. At a minimum I hope we can pull together and get us to September to help minimize damage. If by some miracle we get enough funding to get us beyond September or we get a significant number of new members who are willing to put in the work, I will do my best to extend our lease incrementally so we can continue doing what we do – saving and changing lives.
